Hasan Piker doubles down, defends his ‘God-given right’ to say how much he hates America

Far-left Twitch streamer Hasan Piker insisted it was his “God-given” and “constitutionally protected right” to proclaim hatred for America on his livestream Friday.

During one of his lengthy shows, Piker responded to an attack ad against Democratic Michigan U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed based on his connection to Piker and his past controversial statements claiming to “hate” America.

“Bro, I hate this country, dude. I hate America,” Piker said in clips featured on the ad. “Oh God, I f—ing hate America so much.”

On his Friday livestream, Piker argued that it was “clear” that he was angry at “what America as the American government is doing to Americans and to everyone else” but nevertheless defended his right to say he hates the country.

“Of course I’m a God—- American. It is my God—- God-given and constitutionally protected right to say I hate America if America is actually f—ing over Americans. You can clip chimp it all day. It doesn’t change that. It doesn’t change that mentality. To present this as like, oh, ‘these guys are real America haters’ as some liberals have been doing on the timeline, as virtually the entirety of the Republican Party is doing is so f—ing stupid,” Piker said.

He continued, “How can you not get angry and resentful about a government that does nothing to treat its sickly, to feed its hungry, to feed its starving, to shelter its homeless, when we have all the money we have an abundance of wealth and prosperity, and we just refuse to spread it around? Of course that makes me f—ing angry. It’s shocking to me that you act as though it doesn’t make you angry at all.”

El-Sayed has faced backlash for campaigning with Piker during the primary election, even after Piker was being criticized for claiming America “deserved” 9/11. The Michigan Democrat has since distanced himself from Piker in recent weeks as he campaigns in the general election.

Piker himself has acknowledged his extreme language. In an exclusive interview at the 2026 Socialism Conference in Chicago last week, Piker defended his comments as attacking America’s “meddling in the affairs in the Middle East,” but admitted that he should not have used the word “deserved.”
