Davante Adams is one of the premier wide receivers in the NFL, and as if that wasn’t cool enough, he just revealed that he keeps something in his wallet that puts your Costco membership and punch card for a half-price haircut to shame.
He says he’s the holder of one of the rarest items in fast food lore: a Taco Bell Purple Card.

Adams — fresh off a big game on Monday with 8 receptions for 195 yards and two touchdowns — was a guest on FanDuel TV’s “Up and Adams,” where he showed off his bit of wallet candy.
And before you say anything, it does appear that he has Taco Bell signage in his house.
“It’s got my name on the back, so if anybody tries to rob me, you’ll never be able to use it,” he said. “It’s like a credit card. This Purple Card is basically like a black card, but it’s purple and can only be used at Taco Bell. But it is unlimited. I can get in there and go buy, I don’t know, $7 million worth of Taco Bell today if I wanted, and go have a Taco Bell party.”
Whoa, $7 million in Taco Bell? If he gets that DoorDashed to his house, that would be enough for like… a few dozen Crunchwrap Supremes.
I kid, but food delivery apps have become quite expensive.

“That’s probably one of the coolest flexes I have,” Adams said. “The black card and all that stuff’s cool, but a lot of people have that. Only two people have the purple card right now.”
That is a flex. The only other person with one is comedian Kevin Hart, according to Yahoo Sports, though I think the Chihuahua from the old commercials should’ve been given an honorary one (RIP).
That’s as exclusive as it gets. I’ve heard of a McDonald’s gold card, but those are a dime a dozen by comparison. I remember my grandparents telling me that the basketball coach at their high school had one back in the ’60s.
Yawn.
Now that Purple Card? That’s something.
