Rosie O’Donnell pushes conspiracy theory that Trump didn’t really win 2024 election, says ‘I think Kamala won’

Rosie O’Donnell claimed in an interview Wednesday that President Donald Trump didn’t actually defeat former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.

O’Donnell, a longtime critic of Trump, fled the country after he won the 2024 election and moved to Ireland. She said she was “astonished” that Trump occupies the White House before suggesting his victory wasn’t legitimate.

“I mean, part of the reason that I left is I never in a million years thought we would put a convicted felon, who tried to start an insurrection, back in office. How did that happen? I don’t think it happened. I think Kamala won. I do,” O’Donnell told former CNN host Jim Acosta on his podcast.

“Interesting,” Acosta, who was known for his antagonistic reporting at CNN when he was White House correspondent during the first Trump administration. Trump in turn often attacked Acosta and called him “fake news.”

“I think that we’re going to find all this out, it’s going to come out. I’m not the first person to say this. There are all these researchers who are saying it. I read it online again today,” O’Donnell said before pondering whether Elon Musk somehow influenced the election.

O’Donnell failed to offer evidence that Trump did not actually win the election.

Acosta offered only mild pushback, saying it’s “hard to believe” that Trump won but insisting he typically trusts American democracy because he’s “old-fashioned.”

“I would never think that something like that can happen, so I tend to trust it,” Acosta said. “But I do worry he’s going to try to steal the next one.”

Acosta is one of several former mainstream media figures who now hosts openly left-wing independent programs; he recently compared Trump’s name coming off the Kennedy Center to the falling of the Berlin Wall.

O’Donnell, who also pushed additional anti-Trump conspiracy theories during the lengthy interview, predicted that Trump will “come up with some big tragedy” in order to cancel the 2028 presidential election so he can remain in power.

“We’re going to have an event here in the United States, maybe another assassination attempt, and he’s going to declare that the elections are off,” she said, making the quote symbol with her fingers as she said “assassination attempt.”

When asked for comment, the White House directed Fox News Digital to a June 6 Truth Social post that said O’Donnell is “obsessed” with the president.

Acosta has long been fiercely critical of Trump’s frequent claims of election fraud in the 2020 election, which he lost to Joe Biden.

While Trump’s 2024 victory was not a historic landslide as he often claims, he won decisively, winning both the popular vote and a convincing majority in the Electoral College over then-Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump also captured all major battleground states en route to becoming the second president to win non-consecutive terms.

The bad blood between O’Donnell and Trump dates back decades, when she criticized him while on “The View.” They have continued to throw jabs at each other over the years, with O’Donnell telling the Irish radio show “Sunday with Miriam,” “He uses me as a punching bag and a way to sort of rile his base.”
