An unidentified projectile struck Saudi Arabia’s main international airport Sunday, injuring people a day after a deadly missile attack at the same site raised questions about whether the United States would join another conflict in the region.
Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation confirmed injuries in the new attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh but did not provide a count. It said authorities were assessing damage and checking the safety of airport facilities.
Saturday’s strike killed at least 13 people and injured more than 300, according to Saudi civil aviation authorities. The attack was the deadliest to hit the kingdom in a decade and marked a sharp escalation in the Yemen-based Houthis’ campaign against the world’s leading oil exporter.
President Donald Trump said afterward that the U.S. was considering joining Saudi military operations against the Iran-backed Houthi rebels.
“We may. We’re gonna look at it,” Trump told reporters. “We just found out about the recent attack. So we’ll make a decision. We move very quickly.”
Nearly 400,000 in Florida and Alabama still without power as Isaias moves north

Hurricane Isaias made landfall Friday near Destin, Florida, as a Category 2 storm before weakening to a post-tropical cyclone.
At least four deaths were linked to the first hurricane of the Atlantic season, including two people killed when trees fell onto homes in Florida and Alabama.
The storm then roared into Alabama with tropical-force winds before heading farther north.
In western North Carolina, rivers overflowed as heavy rainfall raised the risk of flash and urban flooding, according to the National Weather Service.
Tornadoes were possible in parts of Virginia and North Carolina, and life-threatening surf and rip current conditions were expected to continue along the Gulf and southeastern Atlantic coasts.
‘Meet the Press’

Michigan’s Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed said his fellow Democrats need to “win by massive numbers” in the upcoming midterm elections so the result “is unquestionable.”
“Donald Trump has already threatened to do what he did in 2020, which is deny the outcomes of an election,” El-Sayed told NBC News’ “Meet the Press” in an interview that aired Sunday.
Asked by NBC News on Saturday whether he would accept the results of the midterm elections, Trump said, “Of course I will. But we don’t want cheating.”

Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., told NBC News’ “Meet the Press” that Trump’s decision to ease sanctions on Russia to allow it to release diesel fuel to the global market may be breaking the law.
“I do believe there’s a legitimate case for saying the president’s not following the law,” Tillis said.

Pope Leo XIV to undergo surgery to remove a nodule on his lung

Pope Leo XIV announced that he will undergo surgery to remove an early-stage nodule on his lung.
“Recently, during some medical tests, doctors discovered a localized nodule in my lung,” the American-born pontiff, 71, said during his noon prayer at St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican.
“It was detected at a very early stage and is well localized,” Leo said from the window of the Apostolic Palace. “The doctors believe it is best to intervene, so, following their advice, I have decided to undergo surgery to have it removed.”
He said that surgery had already been scheduled “for the coming days,” and thanked onlookers for their support.
How the Philadelphia Eagles pulled off the wildest loss of the NFL season

If you didn’t set your alarm clock this morning, you may have missed the most exciting finish of the NFL season so far.
The Philadelphia Eagles lost 19-17 to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London after a fourth quarter filled with twists worthy of an M. Night Shyamalan movie.
It was an absolutely shocking loss for Philadelphia, which had a 99.9% win probability after the go-ahead field goal, according to ESPN Analytics. The Eagles — already dealing with injuries and the sudden retirement of star tackle Lane Johnson — have now lost back-to-back games in which they led during the final two minutes.
